Hotshot is a standalone enemies to lovers small town romance set in the Everyday Heroes world created by K Bromberg.

This was such a quick and easy read that I enjoyed the whole way through. Audrey & Ethan don't have the best first encounter. They are both dealing with the loss of someone close to them but are handling it in different ways. They want nothing more than to not have to deal with each other but of course life has other plans.

I really liked their banter and push & pull dynamic as well as Audrey's sassyness though it did take me a little longer to understand her. Her focus and priorities got in the way of what really mattered and their were times she frustrated me but she really did have quite a bit of personal growth and the more she let go and dealt with some of her personal issues the more I grew to like her. Ethan I pretty much loved from the minute he stepped on the scene. He is my favourite type of hero, the grumpy standoffish type of guy who is passionate about the things he cares about the most.

Their story was sweet, heartfelt, charming and also had elements of one of my favourite tropes, close proximity. The only issue I had with the story was the fact that it was so short I felt some of the relationship development wasn't given as much time as I would normally prefer. It was over way too fast and I would've loved if it had been longer. I haven't actually read the Everyday Heroes series but I found that didn't affect my reading experience at all, if anything it just made me interested in checkout out some of the other stories connected to this world. As usual I really liked Jenna's writing style and can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
