4 Stars🌟 Boyfriend Material is the second book in the Hawthorne University Series but can be read as a standalone. It is a new adult - second chance - sports romance. This story is one that I was highly anticipating after reading book one a while ago and I'm so very pleased that is did not disappoint. Boyfriend Material was angsty, frustrating in the best way, addicting and surprisingly fast paced and exciting for a slow burn romance. I found there wasn't a moment throughout the story that felt dull or boring which was very nice. Eric was cold and standoff-ish at times and gicen he was dealing with trauma, stress and confusion this felt natural and real to the story. He was also chivalrous, sweet, dependable and an all round stand up guy. Definitely my type of hero. Julia was such a stong, independent and focused individual who was also dealing with a lot in her life yet she always managed to keep her head up high even when at timea it felt very difficult.
